Info about the Ukraine School Newspaper Improvements
This project seeks to purchase a large format printer for improving and expanding the student newspaper, as part of the effort to teach creative writing, critical thinking, and civic responsibility.
Having this large format printer will be extremely useful for education and training in newspaper illustration and layout techniques, which makes the publishing and creative process more concrete and tangible. It will also keep publishing costs down, as there will be fewer changes made at the commerical printer's office. The lack of a printer is currently limiting and makes it difficult for the newspaper to sell advertising speace.
Partnership funds will be used to purchase the printer and initial ink cartridges as well as training and software. The community will be supplying paper, printer head replacements, a holding room, and printer maintenance.
