Info about the Ukraine Boarding School Recreation Room

This project aims to create a recreation room that will give children of a Ukranian Boarding School an indoor play area in the dormitories in which they live. This project will train the school community in how to successfully complete a development project. The group of community volunteers running the project will learn about project design, management, and fundraising.

A recreation room will create a pleasant environment for the children who live at the Boarding School. These students (most of whom are biological or social orphans) spend more time at the Boarding School than they do in their homes, and it is important for them to grow up in stimulating and comfortable surroundings.

This project will consist of remodeling an existing room and providing furniture and materials to fill it. The community will provide all manual labor for the project, as well as a share of the furniture and materials. The completed recreation room will have art and craft supplies, toys for younger children, board games for all ages, books, magazines, and a television.
