Info about the Chernivtsi Environmental NGO "Krona"
Since the Chernobyl disaster in 1986, the Ukraine has been struggling with major environment problems. These problems include air, water, soil, drinking water, agricultural and industrial contamination. Partnership support is being sought to establish an Environmental Service Information Center (ESIC) in the Carpathian Region located in Western Ukraine. The ESIC will provide public access to environmental information and strengthen the operation of regional environmental organizations in the region as well as improve ties with other ECO institutions throughout the Ukraine. Specifc services will include a quarterly bulletin, Internet and on-line services,a regional database of environmental organizations, a resource library, and training and capacity building services for NGOs.
