Info about the Charentsavan Business Education and Resource Center
The development of business is vital to members of the Charentsavan community.
Many citizens are willing to develop their ideas for business, but due to their lack of
experience and knowledge, their businesses are likely to fail. Basic business
education is critical, to start potential businesspeople on the right footing, and to
safeguard the development of their businesses. Business education has been proven to
have dramatic positive impact on even the smallest of fledgling businesses.
International aid organizations often offer business education programs, but
Charentsavan lacks a place where such programs can be conducted. This proposed
project will create a Business Education and Resource Center where business
education can be conducted for all people in this community. The newly created
center will also provide all services that are necessary to business education and
business development, such as printing, faxing and copying - all services housed in a
single location. While some courses and services will be provided for free, others will
be offered at nominal costs for those who can afford it. Pricing structures will be
implemented to provide access to every cross-section of the population. Partnership
funds are needed to purchase equipment and furniture. All labor and computers are
being donated by the community.
[edit] About the Community:
Charentsavan is a city located in the Kotayk province (marz) of Armenia. Its
population of 19,708 people at the 2001 census has since declined. The city was
founded in 1948, and renamed in 1967 in honor of the poet Yeghishe Charents.
